flippin anonymal (10 out of 10 ) Wow, an amazing, cast, script and plot. A truley great movie.

P.S. Did I mention this film is boring? I did? oh good!
Cody Lee (10 out of 10 ) Good film
Jeremy (10 out of 10 ) The groundbreaking screenplay for this film is just one of many revolutionary elements for this amazing film. The way that the mystery is set up, and the way that the mystery unfolds in such time-bending ways, was well ahead of its time in terms of cinematic storytelling. Best Screenplay is the one category that the Academy couldn't deny this incredible film.
Jorge A.G (10 out of 10 ) This is a great American Film. It really captivated me and I have to say that it is one of the best films of all time. And I say film, not movie, because movies just last a little while many times. Citizen Kane will be remembered by many and me, I guess.
Dennis (10 out of 10 ) This movie shows technical creativity that remains unsurpassed. Orson Wells demonstrates his genius on several levels. This movie should be seen by every serious film student and director alike.
Henry Pesch (10 out of 10 ) Indie brit did I mention how stupid you are, this is one of the greatest cinematic master pieces of all time you have no idea what this work means, you a fool, ignorant and you don't belong here.
Rodrigo Amaro (10 out of 10 ) Excellent, powerful, with a great cast and crew and directed by the talented Orson Welles, "Citizen Kane" was a movie way ahead of its time but now everyone can't deny its grandiosity. Perfect in all senses.
Debopratim (10 out of 10 ) It all holds good still, I mean a movie made out of this screenplay on today's date, would be a blockbuster and maybe turn more heads than it did in its day. It's a complete reference work for any movie maker. Be it then or now. A movie like this in 1940, it's kinda unbelievable.
Zach (10 out of 10 ) What people fail to realize is it is supposed to have a plot, not distract you with meaningless violence, it was made before that time. Also, I found the search for "Rosebud" fairly captivating.
Aaron (10 out of 10 ) This is considered the best film ever made and I must say it is a very GOOD AND TERRIFIC movie of all time. Thanks for this screenplay.
Pup Tarantino (10 out of 10 ) Watching "Citizen Kane" is an experience you no longer receive in modern "movies". Wells holds his cards close to his vest throughout "Kane", only letting a bit of the story come forth at a time. Unfortunately for a large percentage of modern audiences viewing "Kane" is like viewing ancient hieroglyphics. It's in a language and format that just doesn't resonate. Modern films tend to hammer the viewer over the head with the story. Wells takes a different approach. But anyone who watches this film HAS to take at least a moment to appreciate the visual grandeur of the scenes. The "Forrest Gump"-like opening, wherein Wells is inserted into footage of Hitler and others is breathtaking. The use of ceilings and low angle shots to give both realism and a sense of scope are incredible. "Kane" is a movie that captured lightning in a bottle and would never be allowed to be made now. This film is what happends if you take a young, talented, inventive "artist" and turn him loose with almost no controls and a hell of a great idea for a movie and a fantastic cast. This is the blueprint by which all subsequent films should be judged. Amazing movie.
Bikash (10 out of 10 ) This film/Cinema/Movie is not at all boring. Narrative Structure, cinematography and importantly Characters and dialogue keep any movie watcher riveted to screen, of course if one is eager enough to follow the "rosebud" of the story. Syd Field said that it is an emotional detective story. It is a story which goes in depth and explores the life of a lonely man who". almost lost everything he had". When Cherles Foster Kane dies and his last word was "rosebud" journalists go on a journey to find out who or what is "rosebud". They watch a documentary on the man. IF that documentary was enough and had all there is to know about him then the rest of the movie has no significance. But is that true? Following "rosebud" we come to know about the man which that documentary could not reveal. Through those men who once were very close to him we get to know the man in fragments. Only piecing together those fragmented puzzle pieces of his life we come to know something. As journalist Thompson at last told his colleagues that he was working on puzzle pieces. At last we come to know what "Rosebud" is. It is that sled which Mr. Charles Foster Kane had in his childhood and used to play with it. Just an insignificant sled! Or is it?
Rachel (10 out of 10 ) I had to write this comment because a person voted with 1 star in this review section. It has a reason that is the best movie of all time. Even a 17 year old like myself has found it so interesting and I pick it as my favourite film. After reading the screenplay I can also understand the amount of planning, that lead to this time transcending storyline, cinematography and even using overlapping dialogue which challenged the movie-goers uptill this day.
Daria (10 out of 10 ) Great film no doubt. As I've watched David Fincher's Mank I want to ask you guys, if you know: is that script is the original one? Is it the one Herman J. Mankiewicz wrote? Were there any corrections made by Orson Wells? I would appreciate any information.
†dajer™† (8 out of 10 ) Also, this movie was supposed to be an exposé of how William Randolph Hearst established and built his newspaper empire.
Yandare Mariano (1 out of 10 ) Yeah, I have to level with you, if you are a fan of movies made after the 1970's you won't enjoy this. It's really bad and the scripting is super boring, really wish that they could have tried a little harder.
